PLEASURE SADDLE HORSE TRAIL RIDING AWARDS

Printer-Friendly Version

This award encourages the use of the Pleasure Saddle Horse as a trail or distance riding horse by recognizing the number of hours that applicants trail ride on their PSHR horses. Winners of the award receive various prizes depending on the number of hours they log with their registered Pleasure Saddle Horse. This is based strictly on the honor system. It is up to you to keep your logs and mail them in. Whether riding alone, with a group, distance ride, poker ride or endurance ride, the trail hours are acceptable. The only exclusions are arena work and parades (these hours cannot be submitted).

ELIGIBILITY: In order to be eligible for this award, the horse must be registered with the Pleasure Saddle Horse Registry.

QUALIFYING: A rider with one horse can earn this award logging a specific number of trail hours using that horse. A rider can also ride as many Pleasure Saddle Horses as they want, but each horse must be registered with the PSHR and a PSHR Trail Award Entry Form application and fees must be paid for each individual horse at $25. per horse and the hours for each horse must be logged separately.

LOGGING HOURS: All hours must be logged on the official PSHR Trail Rider Log Sheet. Hours logged should be only for actual hours of trail riding. A trail is defined as a road, lane, or path used for riding that is not enclosed (such as a parade or arena).
Trail hours may be logged for organized trail rides in which the applicant participates in (such as endurance, poker or distance rides) as well as for rides in which the applicant rides alone, with a friend or with a small number of other riders.
